Jack Amyette Recreation Center & Park offers families a comprehensive recreational complex with both indoor and outdoor amenities spanning multiple acres. The facility features a gymnasium with basketball courts, large lobby area, and TV room that can accommodate up to 250 people for events and activities. Outdoor amenities include a multipurpose field, outdoor basketball courts, playground equipment, and the city's first splash pad which opened in 2016. The complex is also home to Jack Amyette Ballpark, which hosts the Jacksonville Ospreys collegiate baseball team with family-friendly games featuring food trucks, concessions, and entertainment. Originally opened in 1960 and named after Jacksonville's first Recreation Director, the center was fully renovated and reopened in 2023 following Hurricane Florence damage, providing modern facilities while maintaining its historical significance as a community gathering place.
